John Deere 2555
I have a Deere 2555 Cab tractor that occasional needs to run a hydraulic motor on a potato harvester shaker all day long. Currently I am running the hydraulics in and out of the SCVs. In the past I have not had a problem but recently the oil must be getting hot because towards the end of the day the hydraulic motor kicks out and the tractor loader will have trouble lifting. Oil and filter have been changed recently.
So I am considering returning the oil to the filter cover to keep it cooler. It already has a tee there for the loader, can I just add another tee with a quick coupler at that location?
Also, if I wanted to bypass the SCV completely and create a powerbeyond situation, could I just add another tee where the loader line goes out? Or would out of the flow control valve be a better spot for this? Could this also be a quick coupler?
Thanks for the help!

How long since hyd oil sump screen(key 30) has been checked/cleaned?? Do you have flow control valve on SCV turned at least 1/2 closed??Yes you can route via a tee both FEL control valve & SCV return line to ported hyd filter cover. You can cap line that supplies oil to SCV but I'm curious as to why you want to isolate SCV? Utilizing a quick coupler is fine. May I ask where the "to loader" hose attaches to tractor hyd's?

The QDs are typically a point of restricted flow. If you change the lash up or the existing lash up has QDs make sure they aren’t the cause of restriction. That, obviously, makes heat.

Another option would be a better hydraulic fluid cooler. Their should be one up at the radiator that could be improved or replaced.

You could also add a reservoir and or cooler to the offending implement.

Sump screen is cleaned regularly. Flow control is 1/2 closed, but now that you bring that up... it probably would help to turn that down more and turn the flow control on the attachment motor up.

I was thinking about bypassing the SCV just to create less restriction. I've read other posts that state the oil returned to the ported cover stays cooler. I guess the oil output could just as well come out of the SCV then returned to the ported cover. Attached is a pretty good representation of my loader plumbing. As you can probably tell I'm a hydraulic novice just looking for suggestions. Thanks!

Otherwise Deere makes this kit for vacuum planter oil return. I'm not exactly sure where it plumbs in.

That kit returns oil to ported filter cover which is the very best place to return oil on closed center hyd system such as your tractor.
