Good morning all, I have a 1996 310D machine. I am having a hard
time figuring out why my service brake are applying themselves at random
times without me pushing the pedal. I will just be moving across the field
going after a round bale and the brakes will gradually apply themselves until
machine stops. Let it sit a minute then all is fine. Any ideas? Thanks

If the brake valve on the 310D operates similar to the older tractors I can't imagine how the brake valve could be at fault. I wonder if the reverser control valve is letting pressure get into the forward and reverse circuits momentarily at the same time. You might could install a gauge in the reverse valve test port and see if gauge ever gets pressurized while operating tractor.

I will definitely have to check into this gauge idea. After it did this, I noticed that the trans oil now smells burnt. It is relatively new oil too. Just last weekend I worked this machine like no other on a side job for 11 hours straight. Moved over 320 tons if dirt and dug a ditch and didn't have a single issue. Then just light use moving a round bale it gives me fits. :)
