Deere 3520 or Kubota L3400?

I like the Deere better, it is more ergonomic and has more bells, I like the foot pedals for the HST vr.s the rocker pedal HST on the Kubota. Kubota also has the grands with more bells , same HP although. I do not like the $4k more for the Deere although.

If you want bells and whistles the Kubota L3130 / L3430 have all those things at about $2000-2500 more money. The L3400 is a standard series tractor and intentialy lacks some of those things for a lower price point.

Did you consider New Holland yet? The controls are laid out real nice on a TC34 (35hp) Same class as the L3400 but the only draw back is the treadle pedal. You can move up to the TC40DA and get the side by side HST pedals it's price should be cheaper then the Deere.

You really ought to be comparing the 3520 to one of the grand L series tractors however. The L3400 fits a really nice niche but does not really compare to the grand L series either.

the L3430 would be my bet if you wanted to compare it to the JD 3520. I thought the JD 3520 was a really nice machine when I tried it. I just did not need the extras and the L3400 allowed me to buy a brand new machine for not too much more than I would have paid for a 7 to 10 year old used tractor with about the same features (proably minus HST). This is a niche that JD hadn't really tried to address at the time.
