I just picked up a 4400 compact tractor with a cab and am thinking about putting a midmount deck on it. I have found a 60 inch deck and mounting bracket for it and have it on hold.

My question is, I don't have the 3rd remote hydraulic for it. Can I put a splitter on the loader hydraulics and run the lift that way or what are my options?

Bottomline, what do I need for hooking up this mower. Thanks

You will either need the 3rd SCV, about $250 or so for the handle/linkage/tubing/bracket/QD kit (you already have the valve, but no way to control it, and no QD's), or you can use a diverter from the FEL-can be electric or manual, but that option will end up costing about twice as much as the 3rd SCV kit will.

But I think the 60" MMM will be to small for the 4400, that tractor should use a 72" to get the deck outside of the wheels. The bracket kit can also be real expensive if you need to purchase it seperatly. (My freind has a 4400 and just went through this)

Do you already have the Mid-PTO installed on your 4400?

I have the mid PTO and can buy a nice 60 inch deck and the mounting gear for only $500. So I thought what the heck fort hat kind of money, it would be good trading stock for a 72. The 72 would definately be better. The tractor is about 55 inches wide with the turf tires. I was going to buy a three point mower for it, and still may. Do you know if the mounting gear is the same for a 72 and a 60?

Not sure if the brackets are the same for the 60" and 72", but knowing JD, I kinda doubt it! I scoured JDParts for my freind and it gets very confusing to say the least...

If the $500 includes ALL the hardware and the lift cylinder then that is a good deal for sure...my freind found a 72" deck in great shape, with everything for $1000.00 locally.

Triton, make sure that the serial # on the mower starts with LV0060A otherwise it will not work. The attaching kit and 3rd scv is needed or remove the loader and plumb attaching kit hydraulics to loader couplers. Part #'s are lvb25137 ( attaching ) and 3rd scv lvbm19694.

Thanks for the tip. I think the dealer said that the deck was on a 4200. Is the lift cylinder separate from the rest of the mounting gear? Thanks

I forgot to mention, that I was thinking of putting a pair of electric splitters on the tractor, so I could just flip a switch and use a remote and lift the mower. Has anyone done this.
