Deere 4510 front axle drive

I have a neighbor with a 4510 and the front axle drive has a seal leaking where the axle meets the drive unit (hope I have used proper terms).
I can't find a repair manual for this tractor and wonder what the procedure would be for getting it apart and replacing the seal. Also, if there is any reason it can't be done by a decent "shade tree mechanic".

You can order a repair manual from your local Deere dealer either in print or on CD ROM. They are also available to order on Deere's website at http://techpubs.deere.com/. A parts catalog will give you the breakdown of components, and they are free of charge online at jdparts,deere.com, just have to register.

Thanks - I found that. It is #11 that is leaking.
The question remains about disassembly. It is not clear what needs to be removed to get #9 and #16 apart.
I can usually figure it out from the parts exploded view, but it is not clear in this case and it is not my tractor.
I hope the CD with service manual explains the procedure.
