Deere 5300 M4WD water pump rebuild

Need to rebuild the water pump on 1994 5300 tractor. We have the rebuild kit. We're having a hard time trying to loosen the water pump from the front of the engine. After removing the nuts, the pump is on very tight. How can we get it off without using the big hammer?

Check, then check again, run your fingers all the way around the flange, being double sure you haven’t missed a bolt, then usually a light rap with a deadblow hammer will break the sealer loose, use light blows, you’d hate to have to buy a whole pump because you rushed

Did you remove the "nut" there are bolts and one nut

Thanks. We'll pull the radiator and try again tomorrow. I think we now have everything we need to accomplish the pump rebuild it it comes off with minimal persuasion. We could have missed a nut the first time around.

Got the water pump off. One bolt had corroded (27 years) and the head broke off when we tried to remove it. That bolt was locking the pump in place, and we had to drill it out, starting with a long small diameter bit and increasing to close to the bolt diameter.
Then the pump body started to move a bit and we could get it off. The remaining bolt was like a thin piece of tubing, and screwed out with a vise grip without any damage to the threads!
