Energy... price, availability and sustainability. The future energy picture is gonna shape absolutely everything we do.
The Wal-Mart business paradigm of shipping cheap widgets to and fro across the globe from the cheapest point of manufacture to a sale location will become less and less viable.
If Deere can manufacture more parts, etc. locally within a larger regional (or international) business area instead of "Wal-Marting" it -- that likely makes for a better bottom line.

The Welland, Ont. plant --- built 1910.. Hmm.. I can only imagine the efficiency of such a facility.
And, I could only begin to imagine what it would cost to scrap that facility and build another from "scratch"!!!
Lot's and lot's of $$$$ that all start with the letter "B".
