Hello, I have a 2010 Z465 with a 62" deck and 25hp Kawasaki. When I engage the PTO it nearly kills the engine while it struggles to get the blades up to speed. I'm not fond of this, is there a way to adjust the clutch?

I've had it off and did not see anything that looked adjustable.

Has this happened since 2010 when it was new, or recently started after how many hours?

I'm not certain when it started, the machine is new to me. Does anyone else have on of the EZ Traks that has this trouble?

It's an electric clutch, so it is "bang" on. No adjustment that I've heard of (yet).
Being that the Z465 is a regular carb and has a choke (I believe), then when cold I'd match the PTO engagement with a choke-closed on the carb.
That works for me and keeps from nearly killing my 425 with the Powerflow blower and mower deck starting at the same time. No problem when the engine is warmed up, only when cold.

We have a JD Z820A ZT. I push throttle to about 1/2, engage blades, them push throttle to full. If you try to engages blades, at idle, you will probably stall engine.

They are designed to engage at full throttle.

Don't worry ..... Get mowing!
