Kioti DK45SC, Kubota B2650
Last May I asked opinions about the reason my DK45SC was popping out of reverse. The suggested diagnoses ranged from lubrication(wishful thinking, that!) to bent fork to bad synchros. The problem finally got bad enough that I had to get the tractor hauled in to the shop. Now, the poor thing is in intensive care with its top off and guts spilled on the shop floor. It looks like fork and synchros will both need lots of parts and labour. My VISA account will reflect the damage early in the new year. Although the problem first appeared before the warrantee ran out, it looks like I goofed, big time, by not pressing to get it looked in to a year ago.
I still think highly of Kiotis, even my sickly one, but 340 hrs seems a really short life for a tractor transmission.

Have a Merry Christmas.

Wow! It's hard to say Merry Christmas after that, but we all have lots to be thankful for...sometimes just have to look a little harder.

I agree, 340 hrs IS a short time for a transmission. Too late for you, but maybe it will teach the rest of us to get symptoms checked out before the warranty expires.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and hoping 2010 brings many blessings.

I would attempt to plead your case to your dealer or to Kioti and see what happens. Just don't be demanding and use your posts if that's how you asked for opinions before if it was before your warranty was up and even if it wasn't up 340 hrs is not a good sign. If you're honest with them they may pay you some respect in return.

Xmas & Happy Holidays

Least let the dealer know what you found/up against..you never know..got my fingers cross.

Sorry to hear of your problem.

You can also show the dealer the posts from this site from May to demonstrate that the problem really did occur before expiration of guarantee.

Good luck to you!

Definately pursue with dealer / Kioti corporate, hard to believe they'd do nothing for you.

Sorry,

The reverser on my DK45 kept popping out at around the same hours - last year. Fortunately, it was still under warranty, and was expertly fixed (better than new) by a dealer mechanic. If you ask a mechanic, they may tell you what the issue is with teh factory set-up, and how the mechanism can be improved. Hopefully that information will also filter to Kioti, thru folks who experience the problem.

Good luck - I hope everything works out well for you.

Yeah, reading the service manual will give you the shivers. Anything that has to do with the transmission requires that the tractor cab come off and more or less disassemble the entire thing, then block up both the front and rear halves and split the thing in two. Seems easier to just flip it all upside down. Anyway I hope it's the proverbial 50 cent part that has your Kioti "jacked up". Like a knackered spring or a pawl or something. Labor...hmmm...let's keep our fingers crossed that Mr Kioti will be in a good mood.

Well you can't put that out there and just leave us hanging. If you have information about how to improve the functionality we are all very interested to know as well.

Thanks for the sympathy. My wife and I dropped in to the dealer's shop over the holiday to visit our ailing friend. The dealer has referred this issue to Kioti, but he hasn't seen this problem before on any of the tractors he's sold. I don't have high hopes of Kioti cutting me any slack, though. The last few days its been snowing wet, heavy stuff and my poor walk-behind blower just can't handle it. I'm hoping to get my DK45 back home, in working order, before the end of Jan!!
As if that wasn't enough, third gear (and "D") in my GMC Sierra just stopped working this morning (it acts like its in neutral when put in D or 3)...I'm not getting the new year off to a good start!
