Delete photos

Did a search but came up with nothing.

How does one delete photos from the "Manage Attachments" files. Some are old and outdated and I'd like to clean them out so I don't have to go through pages and pages of "now where is that photo I need" issues.

Is it even possible?

Well here is how I see it. I don't think you really want to, and I don't think it is allowed. Here is my thoughts on this. Those Photos are "assets" in use right now on the forum embedded in the posts you have made ( and you can view where they are in use). If you upload photo's and don't use them, they will be deleted in one hour. If you were allowed to delete them, they they would no longer appear in your posts. This is what you see when people post a link to a photo, and do not upload the photo to the forum, and then they delete the link or close that account.. Now no more photo. and the wonderful thing you described and showed a photo of is now gone... That's just my 2 cents, YMMV

There was a prior thread about this and it's called enhanced photo uploading or something like that. The photos are there in case you want to use them again in a drag and drop fashion and you can chose to have them stored or not have them stored by changing your preferences. I just looked at it.

so, it seems to me if you can stop the photo from being automatically stored you should also be able to delete them with no loss of photos in the threads. That's what I think but maybe someone else knows for certain.

You know, I didn't understand it then and I don't understand it now. I stopped my enhanced photo downloading but how do I delete existing photos that are stored at TBN?


Separately, I do not believe that deleting a photo takes it out of the thread but need to confirm that.
