Re: New Ownwer 2305 remove MMM problem

So if I read you correct, you know that there is a slide on the tractor end of the PTO shaft that moves to allow the knuckle to slide off the PTO stub ??

I can't open your pics for some reason. Just get a red X.

To remove the deck, raise it with the hyd lift and set the deck wheels at right angles (should be a single hole in the vertical adjustment shaft). Then lower the deck onto the wheels. Then remove the front bail (draft is what Deere calls it). Then drop the PTO shaft off the tractor and remove the pins on the lift arms (I can see that in the thumbnail pic with the PTO shaft under it.

I can't tell if you already have the wheels at right angles for rolling out or not.
It should go out the right side if the lift arms are up. I at times on my 400 series will turn the front wheels to allow more room, and also sometimes put a floor jack under the front axle to get more room to scoot out the deck.

The rod holding the chute and plug should have a lock nut on the top side that can be loosened to get it off, although over time the nut below may be "grassed" in and not turn very well.

Re: New Ownwer 2305 remove MMM problem

Thanks, Beenthere

I DIDN'T Look back far enough on the PTO shaft to see the ring. Then I figured it out after I posted.

I checked to see if there was any response to my post, but there was not, so I tried to delete the whole thing. You must have gotten in with your post right after I tried to delete.

Anyway, I pulled it out the right side, took out the mulching baffles, scraped the grass off with a piece of quarter inch plywood with a bevel on the end, and put the deck back in place.

I'll be ready to mow tomorrow morning!

Thanks for your help!
