I am building a detached garage in my back yard, using pole barn construction. It will be 24'x36' with a 6'x36' covered shed along the south side. Attached is a link to some pictures of it's progress.

Looks good, I remember the days of looking out my window and seeing the posts supported in place. I'm sure it will look great when done too.

Good Job!!! Nothing like the satisfaction of building a new structure on your property. Keep us posted as the construction progreses.

Looks super!

I'm also currently looking at a bunch of poles in the ground at my house. Feels great to have that much done!

Good luck. Keep us posted!

I've added more pictures of the progress of the pole barn to my webshots page. Sheathing is now on the walls of the main structure. Next week, trusses will be delivered, so we should get the roof up and sheathed, and the shed roof posts and rafters up. A week from Monday, the concrete slabs will be poured.

Looks great so far /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif. I'm looking to add two buildings like that to my new place. Keep those instructional images coming!

New pics of the pole barn are up on my webshots page.

The trusses are on, the shed roof rafters are in the process of going up. A few hickups by my lead guy on the site while I wasn't there caused a good two day delay and a bit of extra work on my part. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif But it's moving along, and the roof should be dried in and concrete slabs in by the end of this week.

Nice looking site, what size Electric service are you running?
Bigger is better, you never know what you might be doing out there.
I hope to see some poles standing in my field in a few years, for now I keep mine in the garage.

We're going to install a new 200 amp panel at the house, and install another 200 amp panel in the barn.

On the north side of the barn (to the left when looking at the front) is RV parking, and on that exterior wall, we'll install a 30 amp outlet for RV trailers (I have one of those) and also a 50 amp outlet for one of those diesel pusher RV's, in case we later sell to someone who owns one of those. Plus I'll have a couple of waterproof exterior duplex outlets conveniently place on the barn and house exterior to plug in block heaters on diesel pickups. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I hope to get a picture posted tonight on my Webshots page showing the new overhead door - it turned out great!
