Deutz vs SAME vs SDF?

Same and Deutz were two different brands. Same originated in Italy and Deutz originated in Cologne, Germany. (Koeln-Deutz)
After a long history Deutz got aquired by Same. Their most successful engine was the air cooled system in different engine sizes.
Water cooled Deutz engines are still used in different applicatons nowadays. Not only in their inhouse brand tractors.

Can't confirm that. Don't know enough about both. I once read through the history of Deutz. There were a lots of aquisitions until they finally became SDF.

I think NO, the SLH water cooled diesels are the air-cooled diesels with a water jacket. Liquid cooling is the only way they could reduce the noise the engine makes, and they had to meet noise standards some countries have.
