Any one know if the dewalt labeled emglos are still as good as they use to be?? Looking to buy a portable compressor for the brad gun and the times i need an impact away from home, or just any time i need air and don't want to fire up the big one.. I have two choices right now. A campbell hausfeld twin stack, oil-free, 6 scfm, or the emglo oil lube, side stack, which has 3.? scfm. Both are four gallon.. The emglo is 10 bucks more than the ch. 269.$$ for the emglo. I figure even though the emglo is lower out put it ought to be better in the long run.. So whats your opinion?? Ohyea, anybody know the duty ratings on the emglo??

Thanks guys!!

There isn't any question, oilless compressors are scrap on their way to the junk pile. Go with the oil lubed compressor for no other reason than it will still be working when the oilless is scrapped.

I have a small pancake compressor from Harbor Freight, http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Category.taf?CategoryID=521&pricetype=. $99.00 is not a bad price. I use it with my framing, roofing and brad nailer and it works fine. I don't believe it would handle more than one nailer at a time, but thats fine with me, I don't make my living with it. You could save yourself $160.00 and buy a nailer or stapler.

Think i have found me the dewalt/emglo i want. I am going to have to listen to every one say your crazy to spend 360 bucks on an air compressor when you already have one, but i proably am.. I feel, why buy lower quality when you could buy somthun better.. And also this compressor should last ten or twenty years depending on use. It is rated commercial use, so when i get out into the real world in a few years i will have a high quality compressor from the start, if the need arises.. Well i have researched the dewalt d55155 air compressor and have seen ony a few cons to it. It has lots of air out put and should handle anything i want.. It is portable, fast pump up and from what i have read is some what quiet.. So look at it at this link and see what you think.. Oh yea decided to get this one cause because i really couldn't find much about the other one i was looking at. It just didn;t seem right, and the cylinder i believe is different. So what you think?? dewalt compessor Later guys!!

this is the xact compressor I bought from Lowes last year, 349. It is an awesome compressor other than the fact of cold, cold weather.. We were rushing to finish my roof, and late night, cold, (30ish) the compressor shut down a few times. Other than this, it is powerful, easy to use, and considerably quite, compared to others in it's class..
