Is dewwalt 10 inch table saws any good? I have looking at buying the 10 inch portable unit that is on sale t lowes. I bought a skill 10 inch one about 7 years ago and it wasn't very good. Thanks

Cant say really - I'm generally impressed by DeWalt though. I have a $450 Bosch 4100 which is a great table saw, but yesterday I bought a Ridgid at Home Depot for $199. I used it a little and I like it, I think it's well worth $199, features far exceed the Makita 7203 that I paid $350 for 12 years ago.

Sorry can't help with anything definitive about the DeWalt. $399 on sale for $329 is a pretty good break though.

I bought my Bosh table saw years ago when it was $400. We abused it daily on construction sites and now use it in my shop for making furniture. It works as accurately as most high dollar stationary saws I have used. I would look at the Bosh at Lowes.

Out here in Southern Oregon they are on at least 90% of the residential construction sites I see. I have one and it is a great saw.

If you can afford it, get the fold-up table that goes with the saw. Makes setup, take-down and transport very easy.

some of those dewalt saws don't accept a dado blade if you use one at all.

Dewalt's parent company, Black and Decker's policy, is to not offer any replacement parts whatsoever, when that particular type number becomes 10 years old.

I had this happen to me twice, before I finally learned to buy another brand.

I do have several Milwaukee tools which are more than 10 years old. And, I have no interest in finding out for example, I have to buy another expensive right angle drill, because the switch has failed.

On the other hand, if you are sure you will have used the tool up, and will be ready to dispose of it inside of 10 years, like they assume, of course it doesn't matter. But, a quality tool should last most people more than 10 years.

DeWalt always disappoints me. You can get them everywhere, and they tend to be n the low end of the spectrum for cost, but they never last very long. When looking for a portable table saw, I wasn't very impressed with the two different DeWalt models I saw out there, or any other brand except Bosch. I've had my Bosch ten inch portable table saw for three years now and highly recommend it. Just compare how the stand opens and closes, and how easy it is to move around. Then look at the fence and how easy and accurately it is to adjust. The blades are easy to change and everything about it is well thought out. Of course it was the most expensive one I looked at, but I do this for a living and buying cheap always costs me more in the long run.

Spent most of the summer debating the same question online. Then I went to the store. I didn't like how unstable the portable saws were. So I compared the Delta contractor saw to the Rigid. Finally wound up with the rigid. Because of warranty. First saw wouldn't align but they were easy to deal with gave me a second one and everything was fine. The reviews for both saws say it's a possibility. Wanted something that wouldn't move on me if cutting large or heavy pieces by myself.

I own the DWE 7480 & it is great. Accuracy is incredible for a portable saw. Great power too.

I agree with Eddie. Look at all the saws and compare how easy the fence is to adjust. Check the AMP size of the motor. The higher the AMP number the better motor. Is the saw shaky when deployed for use. Hard to try and hold the saw and get a straight rip on a long board. The on/off switch location, can it be easily reached in an emergency.
