Hi All,
New here and looking for some advice. I am in the process of putting an old grain truck box on a 1999 Ford F550 cab and Chassis. The grain box came with the hydraulic ram and lift attached. I am planning on using a 12-Volt single acting hydraulic pump which the manufacturer recommends using Dexron transmission fluid in the pump. Will or IS this compatible with the old hydraulic rams? My plan is to flush the ram on the lift and get the old hydraulic fluid out and then pump the Dexron into it. What do you all think? Will the seals in the ram hold up? It won't be getting used that often and only lift once to three times a day when in full use. Used for hauling cut trees! Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions..
