Diagnoise of a possible failed flasher

Tracing down some lighting problems on my 2210 the only component left is the flasher unit. It's a $50 part, no returns. Any way to test this to confirm it's bad?

Have ya tried a standard automotive unit from the auto parts house?

That's what I'd do... 3$ from walmart for a simple thermal flasher..
