I'll post pictures later but I got a couple of little surprises.
# 1 I added a gauge wheel to my Oliver Rollover. Now I can't lift it high enough to clear the gauge wheel when I roll it over. I have to suck it up with the hydraulic top link to get clearance and of course, that messes up my settings so every time I turn around I have to reset the plow. Easy enough fix though. There were plates made back in the day for short in the britches tractors to allow them to lift the plow high enough. I have drawings in my owners manuals of those plates so I will just build a couple of them. It will give me about 4 inches more lift at the hitch and about 16 inches at the rear of the plow. Cool beans
#2 I also added the packer to the plow. I didn't realize how much added pull the packer would add. I still pull the plow fine but the added pull is a sideways pull against the landslides and now it tries to pull my tractor sideways so at this time, no more hands off plowing. That can be remedied by adjusting the rear landslide harder against the furrow wall. I'll probably do that in a day or two, I ran out of fuel before I finished plowing so I can adjust it and try again.
Man! It sure leaves a pretty finish now with the packer.
I'm happy! Sure is fun playing in the dirt, er I mean plowing the field.
