Did I break something? 2015 PTO stopped working.

I bought this 2015 new in March. I've been using the loader and a 48" House mower. Just picked up a Yanmar RSB1403 tiller, 57", in excellent shape. I have a 3/4 acre garden plot on our property that I tilled up in the spring with my old Yanmar 1510D. Made four turns around it with the 2015 and 1403 tiller when the PTO just quit. No bang, grind or any funny noises, just like someone pushed in the clutch. It just stopped. All other functions are ok.

Can someone tell me what happend?

Is this a Hydro or gear drive?

Are all of your linkages for the PTO lever intact, and attached? May be an adjustment thing.

Another way to check... ... Turn the tractor off, engage the PTO, and see if you're able to turn the PTO shaft by hand, (counterclockwise as you look at it). If you can, something is wrong. Try turning it clockwise. If the PTO is engaged, it will take a strong hand, but it will turn, an you will hear/feel the overrunning clutch clicking.

If this checks out OK, I'd say its internal.

After rereading your post, let me ask this. Is there any chance the PTO is working but you popped a shear pin on the tiller?? (just checking)

This is a gear transmission.
Shear pins fine. PTO shaft turns free both directions. Checked linkeages, all are fine. Even disconnected the linkage from the lever going into the transmission and operated it by hand. PTO still not engaging.
Tractor has 35 hours.

Mabey the overrunnning clutch went out?
I guess I should call my dealer about warrenty repair.

I was gonna suggest that, (engaging the PTO at the transmission). If that didn't work, I'd definitely contact the dealer.

I talked to the dealer and he knows exactly what's wrong. Seems there is a spring on the main shaft of the trans where the PTO engages. The spring gets pushed out of place or something. He says he just has to order a new spring and install it, which takes about 4 hrs since he has to split the tractor to get at it. He says it's really not a big deal, the spring should have been beefier but it's a warrenty repair. Now I just got to get the tractor to his shop.
