Did the Massey Ferguson 1250 compact tractor, produced from the early 1990's to the early 2000's have an earlier and a later version, which required different shop manuals?

One dealer indicated that there were 2 MF shop manuals depending on serial #, and some parts (filters) suggest that there was a change in these tractors at Serial # E50101.

Our 1997 MF 1250 doesn't have a serial number anything like "E50101". (Is this an engine serial number?)

Has anyone heard or worried about this w/MF 1250's?
Any information would be appreciated.

There were two versions of the 1250. The models prior to 1996 ("E" serial number) had a different engine and front frame. The 1996 models and on have an engine similar to the one used today in the 1533 tractor. There is only one service manual, but there are two supplements to the manual to update the information. If you don't have a service manual order 1449249M2. If you have the service manual and need to update it, then order a1-9249m1
