I've pushed over a few deaders in the woods by hand and had all kinds of wild life pop out. Raccoons, flying squirrels, lots of mice, and occasional birds.

He ran off onto my neighbor's undeveloped property; it's off to the right in both pics; you can see one of the property line/fence posts in the first pic.

And last night I did another bad deed: Except this time I killed a homeless person. This time it was right outside my back door, driving my dog crazy and I was afraid that it would assault my dog. It was late at night and I didn't get rid of the body until this morning. I dumped it out way back on the other side of the back 20. The skunk smell shouldn't get this far, at least I hope it doesn't.

First thing I did this morning was inspect the site where I dumped the body. Excellent news: no corpse, no guts, no bones, no nothing. I almost missed the stick I used to load the body into my FEL the site was so clean.

I'm free and clear. No body: No homicide conviction. :)

Sometimes possums will drag off and eat a skunk. I guess their sense of smell just isn't that good. Or they are really hungry.

I popped a skunk once in the back yard late at night, and went in the morning to dispose of it, and was happy to see that something else had. I found its fur a year or two later in some rolled up woven wire. We had possums hanging around the barn, and I believe they dragged him in there. And yes the skunk was very dead and did not transport himself.
