Tractor
latest purchase TN75a
Mowed about 30 acres yesterday. Used the cabbed Jd so I could sit in the AC. The broomweed I mowed was very dusty so this( cab tractor ) worked better. Some Pics of finished product.

Nice work! How big is the shredder? Is that lake behind in the second picture yours too? Its always nice to see the fruits of your labor.

Nice.. is that a 'legend' series 15' unit?

One day I'd like to get a cab/ac.. just have been too tight for it so far!

Toro, Its a 10' shredder, folds up to about 6 1/2'. Lake is 3 acres, 1 year old. Have a few small fish in it. Its been running thriugh the spillway all year. The dam is about 40000 yards, not including the core which is about 10 deep.
Sound, its a 2610 legend, wish it was 15' sometimes but it works good amongst the trees. My new tn 75A pulls it real well, but these pastures were really dusty broomweed and I did not want to breath that all day. The shredder was yellow from all the dust when I finished. Only bad thing about a cab is that as far as I'm concerned if the ac is broke than the machine is too. It just gets really hot in there and you cant have the door open otherwise you'll go deaf listening to that 140 hp motor and turbo run. Tractor is an 1988 model. Has 5000 plus hrs but has been barn kept and in good condition. It has a 15 speed powershift which is not the best for shredding if you have to back up much! But for long runs its great because you can slow down-speed up a gear with the flick of a lever.

The dam was hauled in with 2 637 push pull cat scrapers a friend owns. Its really neat to watch these type of scapers work; if you ever get a chance its worth the time. We also pushed materail with 6d and a 6r cat dozers at the same time. It was kinda fun trying to stay out of the way of the scapers as they move pretty fast. But the end result was great. Still have a couple of thousand yards of topsoil that we stripped and I want to put this on the slopes to get rid of it and make for some better growing soil. They did the entire dam in just a few days. Dam could have been much smaller but we wanted more capacity and its nice to be able to safley mow the sides its 6-1 slope. the dam takes up about as much room as the lake holds, but we can graze the sides so I really dont feel like its a loss of grass and it looks massive

Ah the good ol' John Deere 4450. I have 100s of hours experience shredding with the 4450 and 4455 at work, they run duals and I've spent days mowing slopes with a 15ft batwing. On the subject of reverse, I've never been too fond of them, the lowest gear is too quick for my tastes and any fine maneuvering. Say what you will about it though cause in forward it sure beats the clutch to shift type transmissions... or the shuttle shifts that only have 4 gears to each of the 4 ranges. Having all the gears together makes it a lot easier to get the best ground speed in changing conditions.

Oh yeah, one of the 4455s had a plugged ac drain and the water would overflow the pan and go into the air ducts and pour out the air vents all over you if you hit a bump just right... I'd get out of that thing at the end of the day absolutely soaked.

Nice. I thought it looke dlike a legend series.

Ditto on the AC.. I would'nt own a cab tractor in the south if it diodn't have an AC... And while I would love a cabbed tractor.. since I'm 'so far' too tight to spring for one with the AC.. I'm making due with my open canopy NH 7610s

I did the same thing Saturday, JD 4230 and Rhino FL15 covered in yellow dust. Unfortunately, the AC in my cab isn't working and the inside of the cab was also covered in yellow. I shred with the door open and ear plugs are a must. My wife was running an open station JD 4020 with Bush Hog SQ720. She was much more comfortable and didn't get as much of the yellow dust since I was shredding in the heavier weed areas.
