Did the New Gen 2520 come with a factory underslung exhaust?

As a kid my grandfather had a 1969 gas syncro range 2520. This tractor had an underslung exhaust, but I have never seen another one like that over the years. Was this a factory option, and if so, does anybody know how many were made perchance? Rare bird? Or was this something someone modified up?

Any chance it was used in a fruit orchard? Possibly the dealer or the owner/owners modified it underslung to keep it out of the tree limbs.
Properly designed orchard tractors always have a under slung or side exhaust. I had to look at tractor data to see that it was originally a tricycle row crop unit.
