Diesel fuel additives

I have, and to be honest, notice no difference. So what does that mean. I am not a test instrument capable of understanding or deciphering the difference. That does not mean that there isn't however. I use Redline oil in my tractor, I believe it is the best synthetic available. The price certainly suggest it should be. Rat...

Well, Id go find a bottle of PS on the shelf and read the label. That should tell you whether it contributes what a higher content of sulfur would. My diesels were pre-low sulfur so it was never an issue. If it were me Id believe the off road diesel sign and use that. PS gives other advantages which youll need in any case. Unless youre going thru lots of fuel youll want its ability to inhibit goop growth in the tank as well as keeping the injectors clean. You wont benefit from its cold weather abilities as it doesnt generally get cold enough where you are to start the fuel waxing. Hope this helps...jimg

I've used redline before it's the best fuel additive i've ever used and i've used about every brand from synergyn to lucas to other diffrent brands.

with there gas treatment i could actualy tell a difference in the noise and performance after using the product since i from bristol tn to nashville tn every weekend and had ample windshield time to tell a signifigant change. it picked up about .9 to 1.5mpg.

the diesel treatment they use they tested extensively with tdi and idi vw's from 1.6 to 1.9 and they have signifagant research and marketing info i got from them. they're a great bunch to deal with and i like there shock gear oil i use on our pulling tractor (2600hp) realy improves pinion and planetary life.

Sorry, I gsve the impression that a Deere tech was suggesting additives. He is not . The guy owned an old Massey, and really wasn't up to speed on new stuff. Looks like the additives won't hurt, but aren't necessary. I am sure that Deere would have had plenty of notice in the manual:

WARNING Danger You can be killed. Use Deere Mil Spec 54328 Diesel Additive or you could have a frontal lobotomy

Add additive to fuel by mixing before adding fuel to fuel insertion point. Failure to add additive before adding fuel can add problems to the intake of unadditive added fuel.

Then there would be a picture of a guy hanging over the steering whell, obviously with his BRAINS SUCKED OUT.
