I got a couple of those engines on some equipment in a big trade a few years ago. One was on a gen set which I sold to a guy who keeps in touch. He says it runs great and he has used it during a couple of power shut downs with no problems and very economical. The other was on a 3" water pump which I had no use for so I put it on my log splitter, it's a beast. I used to stall out the Honda that was on it splitting oak or eucalyptus pretty often but this thing has no problem.Again super economical and problem free.

The one on the gen set I ran a few times then forgot about for over a year so the fuel pump seized up. I found you tube videos on the Yanmar and took it apart, cleaned it up and freed it up and it runs like new. Very simple design and so far very dependable.

Of course neither of us are running it all day every day so who knows but for my use it is great. It is loud and smoky so some may not like it.

Those guys are nuts. I've watched several of their videos.

I recently bought a Coleman KT196 to play with. It is kid size but I can squeeze in it. I had to replace the slippery two passenger seat with a Cobra racing seat and an old airplane seat belt I had laying around. Made myself a track that runs around the back 3 acres of my property. It is plenty fast enough to get your blood pumping. My wife says she can see me flipping it before it's all over.

The original Air Cooled Yanmars are fabulous, and I'm sure some knockoffs are good too but some are not. I have a 3.7 air cooled Yanmar Portable Generator. VERY reliable in the coldest weather.

I think these guys are off-base thinking they can replace the heavy (poor quality) flywheel with a machined aluminum one.

I had a cart in the 70s instead of a bycycle with a garbage picked 3.5 HP B&S. Always remember getting soaked going through a puddle. Same thing with my later VW Beatle dune buggy.
