While using my MF135 to get some food plots ready for hunting season, I noticed oil leaking from the dipstick. Ar first I thought it was blowing oil out and maybe a seal was needed, but upon checking the oil I noticed I smelled diesel. So where do I go from here? What do I check? Thanks guys

A guy that I work with had a seal out of thr drive end of his injector pum that allowed fuel to leak into the oil system. His was on a 275

Ok I was thinking it may have been the primary pump from doing some searching here. Ill check my repair manuals to find where the mentioned parts are located. Servicing a diesel engine is totally new to me. Guess Ill learn as I go.

We had a AC D 17 do the same thing and it was the seal on the injector pump. Had to pull the pump and have it rebuilt. A word of caution if you do this yourself: Mark the ends so it goes back together just like it came out, otherwise it will never start. Injector pump is just like the distributor on a gas engine. It has to be timed just perfectly.

Locally i am mbeing quoted 650$ +/- for a rebuild of my injector pump. Is this a fair price? Or is there an online repair/ rebuilder? Or one of the contributers to this forum?

Had a Ford 841D with Roosa-Master(sp?) injector pump that twice drained the majority of the fuel tank into the crankcase. Local injector company was willing to rebuild the pump but suggested that I first make sure I always left the throttle lever firmly in the shutdown position after stopping. Problem never reoccurred. It did reinforce the habit of checking the oil daily . MikeD74t

Well that is an idea! I guess I could drain the fluids, change filters and top off fluids and see if it happens again. My mf135 is a 1974 model and has 16?? hours on it. It probably is time for parts of this nature to be replaced. But my ol' girl was being used my my friend for the past 2 days when i noticed it. It may well be the throttle lever. I always throttle down and let her run on idle for 20-30 seconds before I shut her off. I dont know why, but just seems she likes it that way.

G'day the most common cause of fuel in the sump is the lift pump ( prime pump) this is located between the fuel tank and the injector pump and is bolted to the side of the eng an easy replacement DIY after that it can be the base seal on the injector pump not as easy to fix though. Hope you sort it out quick as engines do not like diluted oil
