Diesel injector

Can a normal mechanically minded person replace injectors on a small tractor? I own a JD 755 and the manual says only qualified and trained technicians with special tools should work on them. It doesn't seem like rocket science but what do I know?

One of the injectors is leaking where the line leaves the injector to the engine. If I replace one i should do all three.

Is this something to leave to the technicians.

The warning is for disassembling the injectors not swapping them out. You can pull them and have them serviced or swap out with new injector it may just need a new block seal from the description.

Its what seals between the block and the injector like the washer a spark plug has. I think the ones on my F250 diesel are copper washers if I remember right. Those injectors screw in like a spark plug. If you need to have the injectors serviced just mark the way it is hooked up and remove the injectors and take them to a local diesel shop (they usually rebuild injector pumps and injectors) have them serviced and set to spec and re install and away you go. Post some exploded views of your injectors and we can help. I think the JD website has good view if you look there.

Take the pipe off clean both parts, and then refit, that sometimes works.

My Ford 1310 has a 3 cylinder deisel and the injector went bad. I was told Ford wanted $1000 to replace it, BUT, they aren't even available. You might be able to find a used one for $600. After reading on here, I'm going to try to have a deisel shop rebuild it. Hopefully they have the parts needed to repair it.
