I looking at A's or super A's What's the differences? I need a cultivator tractor and need to know about the hydrualic systems if they have them or not. I'm specifically needing mid mount cultivating setup. If I need to get a midmount set are these hard to come by? bjr

Good Afternoon bjr,
Rick pretty well said it all not much difference other than the hydraulics, which BTW make a huge difference when plowing snow or raising and lowering cultivators etc... I own both tractors so if you have any specific questions feel free to ask ! :)

I'm curious as to how hard are the super A's to steer with no power steering? Are midmount cultivators hard to find and is there a standard size for the tip shanks, like 1-1/4 round maybe to be able to use a generic shank to fit? Are tip trips major importance, I have seen pictures of cultivators with springs on them and don't understand there function other than a trip of somekind? I think the International 140 tractor might be a newer version of the super A's, but I can't find any up for sale. thanks for any information as I a beginner at row crop cultivation. bjr

Good Evenin bjr,
So sorry on the late reply ! :(

The Super A steers quite easily, but when I have the front snowplow mounted with the extra weight it becomes a bit more difficult, but still not bad while moving.

There are still plenty of cultivators for that tractor out there and the shanks are still available. I have a complete set out in the back of my property, and at some point would like to clean them up and get them painted !

Yes, the 140 is a newer version of the Super A, but they are all basically the same !

You might go over to Yesterdays Tractors website in the classified section or their photo ads, if your looking for implements fot that tractor !

Good Luck ! :)
