Looks like some type of arena groomer... which is why it does such a good job on the dirt track

That appears to be a Lely Rotera. I saw them used in the late 1970's around here. Very fine piece of equipment. It was an option around here for some of the heavier soils and would work a very nice seed bed in the right conditions. I would love to have one again.

I don't know, but I want one! Looks like it would pulverize tree roots!!

This is a type of rotto tiller. It is used in soils mainly that is already tilled and just needs to be fluffed up. You can use it as a primary tiller but it isnt as easy to use. Lots of times i have seen these used to open up the soil so it could dry. They actually work very well. I wouldnt mind having one.

Dealer I worked for in the 70's had a unit demo'ed that had a row like that behind other tillage tines. 14' unit worked the stuffing out of a 1206 IH.
