Ive Got A L3010 GST4WD w/diff lock that you use by pushing with your right heel. I like to fabricate a type of hook to hold the lever down when im working in mud so i can use the foot throttle also. Would i be doing any damage to anything??

If you are runniing on extremely hard surfaces and in four wheel drive this would put extra strain on the inside rear axle when you are turning.
Also you would tear up soft surfaces, such as lawn, as the imside rear axle spins to keep up with the larger radius of the ouside axle.

Thanks, id only be doing it in the mud working with the fel. Its impossible to keep the lever pressed with my heel and then feather the foot throttle.

On the BX the dif lock is on the left floor board.
I like it there and like keeping my foot stomped on it when the extra traction is needed.

I like my diff lock where it is under my left heel on L4610HST don't know where they put it on the GST. Real convenient for me as right foot is busy with HST pedal and once in a while the brakes which are on the right. Be careful about jamming the diff lock, if you forget, drive just briefly into better traction while in a turn it could really stress the drive gears in axle housing/diff.

I recall that hot rodders used to weld the diff to get super positraction and then their tires would screech and scrub in turns and if you turn sharp enough with good traction it broke axles or diff parts.

Mike,
You might try a hand lever on your differinical lock. Larger MF forklifts (that used a tractor chassis) had hand levers that were about 18” tall. These were modifications made to the foot lever. A 4-wheeler hand shift lever accessory would be easy to adapt. If you did this it would free up your feet. But it would require that keep a hand on it while in use.
