Not sure of where to check the differential oil on my massey 165 any help would be appreciated.

There should be a dipstick on the right side, behind where your right foot sits on tne floor board.

that is for my hydraulic oil is it the same oil for both

It has a common reservoir. Make sure you are on level ground. Order yourself a set of manuals, either your dealer, or agcopubs.com

Use universal tractor oil in both the engine and transmission and hydraulics and differential are all common,filler point is next to the gearsticks.
Dont forget to check the planetary drive units ,one each side behind the rear wheels,the filler /level plug faces the rear of the tractor use 85/140 gear oil.
