Anyone own or have experience with one these? If so, any comments, good or bad. Thanks.

Re: \"Dig-It\" Tow Behind Hoe

I don't have experience with the "Dig-it" version, but I have used a "Mini-hoe" which was a cheaper version (only two wheels and no hydraulic outriggers).

My experience was that these machines are too light to do any serious digging, and to get anything accomplished, you had to leave it attached to the tow vehicle for it to be properly anchored. If you do this. make sure the vehicle is in neutral with the parking brake set, or you'll muck up the tranny (if it's in gear or park) something fierce. With this setup, it's also a pain to reposition the BH, but for planting trees with large rootballs, they're great.

IN my opinion they are junk! Huge lack of power.I dont see any advantage to them at all. A mini- excavator or bachoe on a small tractor would be much better.

Rented one a few years ago. Took it back after 2 hours use as a hand shovel was faster. It couldn't dig through a 1/2" root. Saying it had a lack of power is being nice.
