decided to put my backhoe to use today and worked on a couple stumps that have been nagging me. I have a BH75 on my L3400 and it does quite well, something therapeutic about sitting on the tractor improving the surroundings..

Agreed! Nice dirt ya got there....

I've got around 200 stumps up in Clallam County......interested???:laughing:

That might be the breaking point between therapy and work. I have lots of ponderosa pine stumps to dig out some 350 miles east of Clallam County. Their very long tap roots make them particularly challenging, therefore, cathartic in limited numbers.

Serious-
I have a very stressful job- deal with the "Customer always right" (even when they are wrong) public.

I can spend a hard, long day on the tractor playing in the dirt and its like a long mind clearing vacation!! Old body will be aching but the head is relaxed!

It's a lot of fun to dig stumps with a hoe, but even more so with a large dozer with V-shear blade mounted in the front. When the big Cat blew its transmission they let me mount the blade on my 40 horse. Cleared the back 50 acres with my old Case! Lol

Yep, just like I pulled this stump with my TORO!

I did pull it on the ground, but not out of the ground. :D

admittedly some of them do take time, I spent 3 hours on an old growth cedar stump that was over 6 ft tall. had to break it into 3 pieces, hated doing it but it was in the way and needed to go.. now it's stopping bullets downrange of my shooting lane..
