What is killing magazines and newspapers is the Internet not digital printing.
What magazine could you buy that has the depth and breadth of knowledge that is on TBN? There is no such magazine and TBN is free. I used to buy a diesel truck magazine off the news stand but it was up around $6 and I could fine more and better information on Internet sites. News magazines are easily replaced by Internet content that is vastly superior, more in depth, and free.
There are magazines that I read that are doing well but they are covering subjects that are not so easy to webify.
My Kindle Fire last eight hours on battery which is sufficient for all of the reading I do. The B&W Kindles can last for weeks on a battery charge but I don't know how a magazine would look in B&W. As tablets become more and more main stream content is going to follow.
I have been sick with something and had to go to the doctor this week. I took my Kindle and a book to read. I took the Kindle because I was almost done with the book and wanted to have something else to read if I finished the book. When I go to pick up the kids from school, I take the Kindle to read.
On Edit: Just checked my email and I had a note about getting a builders magazine for free. Digital edition of course.
