Height and width will depend on your tires.
What I listed below (from the 4520 manual) lists different tire types.
For the overall length, add 10-12 feet for the loader/backhoe.
I'd suggest 12" extra on both sides of the door and 3"-5" for the height (minimum).

My 4520: R4 tires, 448 BH, 4in 1 on 400cx.
19ft 9 inches long. 6ft 3inches wide (4in1, rear tires.) 7ft 11inches Tall to top of folding rops. If you want to store BH inside, off of tractor, add 5 ft minimum. I think Roy's additional space for sides, top is about correct. You wouldn't want it too tight. While you could fit it in tight, I would err on the side of larger. I know someone who is storing one of these in a 20ft shipping container (rops down). It works, but I wouldn't want to do it myself.

Regarding the door, while a "standard" garage door (cars) is 8' tall, another common height is 8'6". It cost me $250 more on a 12' wide door to get that extra height, and about $200 more on a 9' wide door to get it.
There is a "low clearance" lift set of tracks you can get too, so if the structure that will get the door takes a standard set of tracks/rails, then you can most likely go with the taller door and the low clearance tracks.

So if you're in that general size/range of door (typical garage door) ask for the 8'6" height version.

Thanks for the replies. I guess I'm going to need a little bit bigger area than I originally was thinking.

This was only going to be temporary storage but it may have to be something more permanent. A used shipping container would have been nice but that seems like it may be tight.

I have a 45x72x12' to store my cabbed JD 4520. But then, I like to leave a little extra room around it for attachments.:laughing:

A cheap unit maybe an tin carport/storage unit sold at menards and other stores.

If it is only temp, keep in mind the FEL bucket could be removed to gain a bit on length, the ROPS if OS model can be folded to reduce height and the BH boom can be lowered a bit to reduce height.

Just did that with the ROPS / BH in order to drive into a standard garage with a skid of tiles. In addition to shipping containers, used truck bodies may represent a temp option as well.
