Dimensions of the L1230 FEL 60\" bucket

Hello all,

I am waiting (none too patiently, I'll add) for delivery of my LK3054xs from Carver Equipment. It should be ready this week and I expect delivery late this or early next week. I ordered it with the 1230 FEL and 2375 BH.

After reading a great deal of the TBN forums, I believe that I will need (want) a tooth bar for the FEL. I am looking at the Markham Welding product, but their web-site indicates that they need the bucket dimensions, which I don't have.

Two questions:
1. Will they know the dimensions? or
2. If they don't, could someone with a similar setup (FEL only) provide them so I can pass along?

I want to get hie tooth bar ASAP so I don't mess up the cutting edge of the bucket and make it harder to do down the road.

Thanks again for all the information, (who said the Internet wasn't a valuable source of information?) on this and many other issues.

How many inches is the bucket you orderd? You can put a couple of different sized ones on and we need to know which you bought. If you dont' have it on your order, call and find out. What you need to know is the inside demension, just behind the cutting edge, side to side.
My 54" bucket is actually a little bigger on the outside, and just about at 54" inside.
Let me know which one you bought and I'll get you the info. John

I ordered the FEL with the 60" bucket.

I spoke with the fine folks at Markham and they indicated that the individual bucket needs to be measured. The instructions were to measure the inside width 8" back from the cutting edge and provide that to them. They manufacture the bar 1/4" narrower than that measurement.

I will just have to wait until the unit arrives (next week according to Al Murray at Carver) and rush the measurements to them then.

No, it's not a trick question, it's me not paying attention to the whole thread title again! It's me still up after having worked 14 hours last night, again. It's me not seeing what I'm looking at again. Okay, if I'm through bashing me, can I be forgiven now? LOL
KiotiOrange, have you called Carver to see if they have gotten just the bucket in yet? You could ask them to measure it for you if they have it. It may be that they have it already but not everything else. John

Carver Equipments sells the WR Long toothbar.
Thats where I got mine, and it is a real nice toothbar.
Just call Carvers and have them install the toothbar for you, that way you get a nice bar and you know it fits..

Don't be so rough on yourself. I've been in the exhaustion mode and it really makes the simplest of things a challenge.

I will either wait for the tractor to arrive next week or contact Carver to buy one from them (see DH35vince reply).

The hold up from Carver has been getting the 16 BH bucket form Kioti. They are prepared to deliver with an 18" (their idea) or 12" (my idea) until they can get their hands on a 16 an cross ship it to me. Either one of those sounds like music to my ears.

Like most folks anticipating the arrival of their new tractor, I have a list of "chores" that grows almost every day. If it doesn't arrive soon I'll be on it from sun up to sun down until winter returns. Thanks for the suggestion. I will call them today to inquire on that. I want to get the toothbar on the edge ASAP so I can avoid messing up the factory cutting edge before a bar arrives.

I'll compare the cost and quality of the WR Long bar to the Markham (I have neighbor with a Markham on his skid steer) and decide.

Thanks again for the information. I've said it in other posts, but this group is more valuable than most forums on the WWW. I only hope I can contribute as much as I take with me.

I was originally supposed to get a 16" with mine, they sent a 12" and I got the 16" later. I decided to buy the 12" as well. My dealer felt so bad about my delay in getting the backhoe in the first place that he sold me the 12" for half price after I refused to let him GIVE it to me. Call me crazy, but it wasn't the dealer's fault to begin with. John

Here is a picture of my WR Long toothbar, (cost with shipping from Carvers was around $300).
I hooked 1 tooth on the tungue of my trailer and lifted till the loader ran out of lifting power and never bent the tooth. Thats strong enough to suit me.. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
