So I'm working on a deal for this 6 foot rear blade, I have not seen it in person yet, just these phone pics.

No markings on it as to who made it that the guy can see. Looks like it is an offset blade by the front half moon, also looks like from the rear it will angle up and down as well as side to side. Even has scarifiers on the blade, looks like they would deploy to the rear of the blade though.

This is a new one to me, but might come in very handy for making/smoothing ditch banks and the like.

Anyone familiar with one of these, heck, anyone ever even seen one before?

And what might the "down pointing pin" in the center of the 3ph attachment do?

Whats it worth??

Thanks.

I've never seen that type of blade with scarifiers. The only time you could use them is when the blade is being pulled in the position it is in as now shown, straight on. But scarifiers do help breakup a hardpacked road. Judging by the box section on the blade where they mount, they look original. I wonder how much they actually hangdown below the cutting edge of the blade? The downward pointed pin is a puzzle. It would appear to allow the 2 arms that form the toplink attachment point to pivot, but why?

looks as though it would allow blade to offset to one side of tractor

I think the down pointing pin is the pin the owner is using for the top link and it is a convenient place to store it. It looks like it could use a coat of paint but other than that not in too bad of shape.

Be handy to offset the blade as well as just angle it...

I agree with this. The pin in the top center of the 3pt is the hinge that allows the main "arm" that holds the rear blade to pivot to one side of the other. The lower hinge is directly below it in that large, semi circle (half moon) shaped piece of It looks like it has three adjustments now, center, left, and right. Cool scrape blade though, have not seen one exactly like it before.

Looking at the picture of the blade from the side it appears that the blade itself will rotate 180° then fold the scarifiers down. That would put them in front of the cutting edge which is curved away from them. That would put all the weight of the blade on them as they cut and allow the blade to smoothly back blade right behind them. My speculation anyhow.

So it is a bit of an oddball with lots of stuff going on. That "pin storage" idea makes sense for that top link pin. not sure about the speculation of that blade rotating 180%, it also makes sense but I don't see the mechanics there to allow it to do that.

I'm working on a trade deal with a bucket I have, my bucket isn't a perfect fit so the guy is supposed to talk with a welder tomorrow to see if he can "adjust it. Then maybe we can make a deal.

I'll keep you posted.. still looking for more input though, thanks for the replies so far.

My guess (and it's just that) is you would pull the pin (red) the blade would pivot on the bolt (white) and the two pieces of frame would slide against each other (black) allowing the blade to spin on the frame (yellow). Note the pin holes on the opposite side of the plate from where it's currently pinned.

The pin at the hitch end is the pivot. The next one down the main beam is to select the angle of the beam allowing you to pivot the whole scrape to the side to pull ditches, etc. The one on top on the blade end is to give the blade more or less aggressive angle so you can pull it straight behind the tractor or angle it to pull your dirt or gravel to one side and it can also be spun 180 degrees. And the one at the back of the blade is to angle the blade up/down on either side.

It's pretty much like an ETA blade but with a few less settings.

That should work good for your tractor since it's basically 5 feet wide. The only downside I see is it not having a replaceable blade. I guess that's were the rippers come in handy to loosen the soil before you scrape if you need it.
