OK. OK. I can hear the comments already!!:D My question is ABOUT the dipstick - not from one!

I have a YM2210D which has a screw-in type oil dipstick. I know when you use the screw-in front axle dipstick that you are supposed to just shoulder the dipstick and don't thread it in to check the fluid level. Is this the case with the oil dipstick as well? Also - is the correct method to use for all screw-in type dipsticks (i.e. - hydraulic/pto fluid)?

Please advise.........

Thanks!
Greg

Greg:

The manual for my YM 336D says to unscrew and rest sticks on top threads to take proper reading. Do not screw in to take accurate readings. The same holds true for all three fluid levels -- oil, front gear oil, and transmission/hydraulic oil levels.
