Most people have always thought of the pond (dirt) scoop as a poor man's loader. For light to medium duty use, the KingKutter brand will probably do all the material moving you need to do for a decent price. Not sure how much they are now, but you can price them at the TSC website. I'm not sure if they will work with the Imatch system.
As for weights, you may find that you won't need any just to hold the front end down as long you're working on pretty level ground. I think a 30" scoop filled with material will still weigh less than a 5ft bush hog. If your tractor can handle that, then the a pond scoop should be no worse. They are more compact and closer in to the 3pt hitch so the leverage factor isn't a great as with a bush hog hanging off about 5-6 feet behind the tractor. However, front weights may give some traction advantage by putting more weight on the front tires as you back into a pile of material, or try to scoop material up off the ground. Good luck!
