I can't compete with Pajoube for digging, or Mossroad for all of the material he moves to groom ball fields, but between football games Saturday I was able to line up my two sons, the new pickup, the 5000lb capacity dump trailer and the PT1845 to move 5-6 tons of dirt 3/4 mile to deposit in horse-created swamps. The PT loaded the trailer, smoothed dirt after loading, and pulled out the truck and loaded trailer when they got too far into the wet greasy stuff.
We dumped and spread one ~4000lb. load near a waterer, and two in a shed, raising the levels slightly above standing water. Of course, it's raining now, so I assume the swamps will be fully restored.
Once again, turf tires worked fine, but I avoided really deep mud.
An observation: The SUV's that routinely crowd my car nearly off the road pull over against the bank and stop when they see the PT coming -- when I have the 60" 4 n 1 bucket with the teeth on it. It's not very wide, but they assume that it is about to turn and bite the shiny front off their "utility" vehicles. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I had the same experience with terf tires working great in mud. Then this past week I was plowing snow when I took the 425 and 60 inch blade onto the lawn to plow a lane to the back of the property when the terfs started to spin. I was in about 12 inches of snow and had no problem pushing with the blade as long as I was on level ground. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif When I started to go uphill pushing snow the terfs would spin. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Darn, this tractor sure does well. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

time is of essence in the snow removal business and at times on long inclines i go up hill empty at full trottle (w/o pushing) and have found out that i gain in the long run

happy new year paul /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Moss has exactly the right idea. Perhaps something reminiscent of the "Flying Tigers" in WWII, with the big teeth. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

changing subject , before clicking on the forum I noticed that the link for power trac in Tazwell was missing , I was wondering if it has been taken off or if maybe I done something to loose it, since I know very little about computers

I just went to http://www.power-trac.com and it loaded fine. I've noticed that over the last year or so, sometimes thier web site seems to be off-line. Then, the next day, it is back up again. Maybe someone at their web hosting site is playing video games or something at that time /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif (just kidding)

An observation: The bigger the SUV the more likely it's taking it's half out of the middle.

Maybe I'll mount a 4 in 1 on my Tacoma to keep them over there,
