Just bought a Dirty Hand Tools 3 point log splitter. When I hooked it up to my tractor (Mahindra 4035 HST) it will only lift the attached end of the splitter. If I tighten the toplink enough to get off the ground at the back end, it sill only lifts the front end. If I tighten it even tighter the back will come up, but I cannot let it down. So lifting and lowering is all happening by way of tightening and loosening the toplink. The tractor is a Cat 1 hitch. DHT says their splitter works on Cat 1 and 2. However, the vertical spacing from lift pins to toplink connector is only 13". Tractor is at least 18" which is cat 1 spacing. Anybody have any idea why this is not working? Does anyone think that if the vertical space from lift pins to toplink was 18" that this would work as it should (lifting by hydraulics, not tightening the toplink)?
