Received this adapter plate from PT for making my aftermarket 1460 pallet fork attachment.
Factory bend has noticeable cracking.

My other attachment plates are welded at the bottom intersection with the large flat main section-not bent on a brake like this one.
Don't know if this is a new cost saving way to build the plates but I am concerned about the cracking causing a weak spot at this area.

Do u all think it is something I should worry about?

Hard to tell by the picture what we are looking at.

But YES, if it's a point of stress, it's NOT GOOD. Wrong grade of steel or wrong bending parameters. It is TOTALLY compromised. You don't EVER want to see a crack in bend.

I don't know if you are aware of this.
If you click on the picture it should blow it up and show the cracking clearly.

I see the crack clearly, but have no context for the location or application and also no size reference. That looks like inch-plus material.

Holy smokes - that is unacceptable. Call them and make arrangements to get a new unit.

That plate is not fit for the intended use in my opinion and should never have left the factory. Ask Terry to send you a replacement.

All the best,

Peter

Yeah, I would call down to the factory and tell them. They could send you a new one or not charge you for this defected one, then you could grind out the crack and weld it.

Yeah, I would call down to the factory and tell them. They could send you a new one or not charge you for this defected one, then you could grind out the crack and weld it. Be sure to clamp it well if you ever do weld it, because it will really draw at that point.

Kind of need a picture of the front face (to the right of your picture, 90 deg.), how far across the plate does it go? Might have been a hard spot in the steel plate.
