gas was put in my ford 4610.It sat for 30 hrs before I noticed a spill under it.I was told it was turned over for 20-30 secs.Does this mean its really messed up or just some what.I drained the tank ,sludge bowl filter and fuel pump. Ihave no clue how to prime the pump so I can bleed the lines and get it going before snow flies and yes it has twice here.Is this possible or is this a bigger job than just that. If there is no engine damage from over heating and worping can I fix this with just my hammer, I dont know how to prime a injector any help would be much apreciated.

20-30 is not likely long enough for the gas to get from the tank to the
injectors but do not start it until the entire fuel system is drained down.

If you are not comfortable doing the work; It might be time to hire a
diesel mechanic to drain the system and prime it with fresh fuel.

Find the idiot who put the gas in the tank and beat them about the head
and shoulders.

Are you saying it cranked and ran for 30 seconds or just turned the starter for 30 second. I would think that if that was all it ran, it should still have diesel in the injector pump. After draining the tank and refilling with diesel, I would replace the fuel filters, then let them fill and bleed off air with the bleed screw on top of the filters. There should also be a bleed screw on the injector pump, let it bleed out at least a pint or more till there fuel smells and feels like diesel or untill all the air bubbles had got out. That may be all you need to do if it was still running when you killed it. I would think that it would take more than 5-10 minutes just to displace the diesel in the lines and filters so it should still have fuel in the injection pump. All this bleeding is just precautionary. If it wont start after this, you will need to loosen off all the lines to the injectors and let the air bleed out as you turn the engine over a few revolutions. Tighten the injector lines back up and it should be air free and should start up at that point. Again, I would try it prior to taking off the injection lines.

yep.. drain tank, all lines, replace fuel filter, and then loosen injector lines from injectors and pull her all over the pasture and let that mixed fuel bleed out. then see what ya got.

Yes. And replace with new diesel and bleed up to the injectors. Then crank it over. Getting all the air out of the Diesel is not easy, I have been having compression issues with one of my tractors so i will be replacing the rings when funds permit. Since it didnt start, i wouldnt think your rings are shot, but when you crank it over, do not use ethur or starting fluid. I have heard that WD40 will get a diesel starting but im not sure on a machine your size.

if you pull it around, you are doing the same thing as cranking it over to bleed.. except you are not abusing your starter or battery...

only works on the plain gear models..
