Does the disc on the disc edger adjust (tilt in or out) or is it fixed at only one angle? It appears that the disc doesn't turn is that correct? Has anyone used the one that pt sells ? If so what is your impression of it? If it is fixed and doesn't turn it seems like it would be easy to build one, and also add these features.

MossRoad has a nifty edger on his 425.

I don't think it turns though... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Very easy to build one. I did it in a couple nights for about $15. Mines not a pt edger, it fits my Ingersol, but I got the idea from PT.

I posted it under driveway edger in the lawn & garden section.

toy,

Take a look at Schultz' edger. It's a very straightforward design--I think even I could build one (if I had any welding skills). I have the PT trailer towing attachment which I use only occasionally. After touching base with Schultz, I am planning to make an edger this Winter using box stock, so I can slip the end of it into the standard receiver of my trailer tow attachment for edging, and I will still have an unmodified attachment for towing my trailer when I need that--- a bit of multi-tasking from an attachment that costs $265 currently, as opposed to nearly $400 for a new, one-task-only, PT edger. Only problem is since I don't weld, I have to find someone to fab for me.

Try a local community college or trade school. Sometimes they will do the work for cost of materials.
