The used one I have been waiting on finally got here. A Krone AM 323 S in a KMC 4755 caddy. Man, 10' 6" sure looks a lot bigger sticking up in the air.

Enjoy,
D.

Now heres something I don't understand, they told me I'd need about a 6000 lb tractor to pick up a 9 ft disc mower, but that cart will pick up a 10 fter?

A tractor is a lot wider than a caddy and has a lot of weight on the other side.

Interesting - I dunno. This one is a 10'6"

I hauled it down the road between 30-40 mph and it didn't fall over. It does sit very low. The new caddy there is an optional counter weight.

Nice find, nice rig. You'll be able to do some serious mowing now.
What shape is it in? Any spare parts in the deal?

It is in great shape as far as I can tell. The same guy that I got my baler from had this mower. It is a 2005 and he didn't use it much. So, I think I did good.

No spare parts, but the dealer is going to throw in a new set of blades and hardware. When I need them.

Any parts I should look at keeping on hand?

Looks like you're covered pretty well for parts. Don't forget shear pins (if there are any in your mower).

The guy who sold me my MF-124 two-twine baler a few weeks ago also had a 7-8 ft Gehl disc mower for sale. I passed because I only have 7 acres in hay and my 6-ft sickle bar works OK. I may get a disc mower later just to say I owned one.

I think it has a slip clutch - I will check that.

Disc mowers seem like less work, but who knows.

I "need" a square baler now.

Congrats on the good looking setup. It sure doesn't look like its been used very much. There is still paint on the bottom of the bar. Blades and blade bolts is about all you will need for spare parts. Did you get the owners manual with it? The clutch is supposed to be checked every year before you start using it. The 2 9" ones we got are sure cutting good. :) I looked back at the pics and you don't have the swath board on that mower. I didn't buy them for mine. The only time it seems that you really "need" one is if the hay is very, very heavy. The only other thing I have noticed on my mowers is a tendency for really tall hay to bunch occasionally around the end of the mower gear box right behind the first set of blades. It only happens in extremely tall grass. If you see some starting to bunch up and drag just lift the end and back up. Usually it will kick it off in 5 or 6 feet or so.

I asked for a manual. They are looking for it.
