I am looking to buy a disc and I am wondering if anyone has any opinions or advice for me. I would kile anyone's feed back on sealed bearings vs greased bearings.
I like greased bearings. they are better for people who will actually grease them regularly. The new grease helps to push out any dirt that might get into the bearing. For people that don't grease them regularly, sealed bearings may be better. There may be less chance of dirt making it's way into the bearings.
Six of one, half dozen of the other. Toss up, but like jd110 said...it will depend on your grease habits. Will also depend on the habits of the person that owned it before you (if buying used )

For me, greased bearings. Just for the comfort of knowing Im doing my part for bearing longevity.
Weather they would last longer than sealed bearings, I do not know. But the thought that i can purge old grease, dirt from 'grease-ables' is a good thing.
Front gang bearings always wear out quicker no matter what bearings are used anyhow.
I have not seen new smaller-sized discs with greased bearings. I have heard some on here say they can get certain brands eather way.....but everything I see as new inventory is sealed these days. From previous discussions.....I too think it's 6 for 1....1/2 doz for the other.
I have a KK 5 1/2 foot double disk for my 2320 and they are the grease type. Very heavy double thrust ring gray-iron bearings setup like the old disks with 2 zerks per bearing and 2 bearings per shaft so they have 16 zerks. I grease them every time I use them.. cheap insurance
