Has anyone devised a way to raise the discharge chute on your MMM to help you squeeze into tighter places? I can't see using a chain or rope as there'd be too much chance of it being dropped & eaten by the blades.

I've got a couple of spots that are accessible except for the discharge plate. I won't remove it entirely since I use the BX up near the house.

Thanks,

Jack

I use a short blue bungee. I leave both end clipped to the seat frame and when needed, I can lean over pick up the end of the deflector and clip it up. You are wise not to remove it as a projectile can fly longer than you'd expect. Be safe.

I have had a piece of light rope on mine for a dozen years now, no problem. I normally keep mine up 15-20 degrees so that it doesn't clog and I can pull it all the way up when I need too. The other end of the rope is tied to the throttle on the dash (B2710).

Ditto on the bungee cord. My Kubota TG1860 deck has a steel chute, I drilled a quarter-inch hole near the edge to hook the bungee, the other end is hooked under the seat. Easy to hoist the chute up when needed, and there is always some tension on the bungee so it isn't flopping around and won't come loose.

X3 for bungee. Allows me thru narrower gate, and when stored in barn...

x4 for bungee. Makes a big difference when mowing heavy grass.

This is exactly what I did on my B2929. Drilled small hole and bungeed it up.

I raised mine up to a shelf in the garage, to be reinstalled when I sell.

Thanx all. I'll be drilling tomorrow. I'll just need to make sure the chute is down when I'm around the house & plate glass windows. I hadn't thought about it making a difference in tall grass, but it makes sense that it would cut better w/o the chute to restrict the cuttings being discharged.
