I'm about to remove the backhoe from my CK30HST for the 1st time and just use the tractor without it. Question: Once I've disconnected the hydraulic hoses, do I need to just cover them with the rubber caps, or what?
Thx

Just stick the rubber caps in the tractor. Wiping them off with a rag is also a good idea.

Nothing can come out of them when they are disconnected.

On the BH, there are probably no covers but you could just tie a rag around them to keep the moisture and dirt away from them.

Make sure the ends of the hoses are color code so you know which hose goes where. I have done this about fives times. The hardest part for me is reconnecting the BK. Let us know how the re-connect went. Ck30hst

On mine I have to turn a post that turns a valve on the right side of the rear axle when I connect and disconect the backhoe. I have to use a small wrench. I don't know what the valve does or what will happen if I don't do it. It's not in the owners manual. Perhaps there is different ways to plumb the remotes so you don't have to crawl up under there to turn the thingy post.

DJDOWD, there are several ways to hook up your CK30 to your
hoe. TWIGPIG has a diverter setup that diverts pressurized flow
from the 3PH to the hoe. Mine uses the detented OEM remote
valve. I also set up my hoe remotes to use one female and one
male QA coupler. That way implements always get connected
the same way AND you can connect them together when they
are detached to minimize dirt contamination.

I have one on my CK20, it comes off OK but the feet bleed down over time sitting, I bach the tractor in position, connect the hydraulics to the tractor, most times have to hit the connector end to relieve pressure, sounds messy but it works without fighting, then operate the feet to lift the hoe and backup

It's also a good idea to put blocks under the hoe near or just foeward of the boom pivot and after you have pulled the tractor ahead enough to disengage the mounts, shut the engine down and move all levers in all directions several times to relax all hydraulic presure, then when you go to hook up you won't have any connection problems as mentioned in another post. Good luck, it's easy, Ron.

Assuming you have two male quick connect ends, you don't really need to do much as you can easily wipe them down before reconnecting. I have a habit of sticking the two ends into a plastic baggie and using a rubber band or zip tie to hold the bag in place. If there are rubber caps that would obviously work fine but my BH did not have any (or maybe I lost them early on).

When I take off my box scraper to attach the backhoe, where do I position the lower links. I just noticed that its wedged under the floor of the backhoe.
I guess what am asking is there a proper position for the lower links or do I have to remove them to attach the backhoe.

Dirtcutter,

Posted a reply to your private message but not sure it went to where it was supposed to. If you got it let me know so that I don't have to two finger that again, Ron.
