I'm still new to tractor ownership, and even though this is a dumb question, I have to ask.

I have a JD3720 with IMatch Quickhitch attached to a Frontier RC2060 cutter. When the tractor sits level in my garage, after disconnecting the PTO shaft from the tractor and lowering the 3PH all the way down, the Imatch doesn't go low enough to disengage the hooks from the cutter.

So the question is, am I doing something wrong or does the cutter need to be lowered to something like a course of bricks to keep it elevated, or can the 3 PH be adjusted to go even lower?

Thanks for any responses.

I don't have that system on my tractor, so this is a guess, but I keep a couple of pieces of 4X4 near where I take my rotary cut mower off and put them under the front. That or a couple of bricks may keep the front of it up enough so that the Quick attach and disconnect.

Can be an issue--especially if you have the larger tires. I usually place my MX-5 on a pallet to help with the problem--also check your top link connection, it can cause some binding that will stop the iMatch from lowering all the way down. You may notice this more if you adjust the mower during usage (especially if you have a hydraulic top link).

The vertical lift arms which attach to the lower 3 PH arms are adjustable. On the left one, you have to pull the lower pin and turn the yoke counter clockwise to lower it. On the right one, just lift the outer vertical shell up and turn to equal the height of the other hitch arm.
I also put a short length of 2x4 under each of the rotary cutter skid shoes to keep them off the ground/floor.

Thanks for the info. How do you think the dealer got the cutter connected to the IMatch prior to delivery? Or do you think once connected, then the vertical lift arms were reset? If so, I wonder why that would be done.

Thanks,
Scott

My dad has a 3720 with a MX6 mower but no imatch.:( His has smaller R4s so it goes all the way down but I also think the vertical links are pinned in the lowest selection. My yanmar has an imatch and it wont go very low either so I just have my implements on blocks so I dont have to get off and wrestle with the implements.

Have to ask your dealer.

I have a speeco quick hitch and a 5' frontier bush hog on my 3320 and haven't noticed this problem. I would look at the top link- if it's set short this might make it happen. I've never adjusted my 3 point arms or even really new they could be adjusted. I do keep my mower on a pallet, but that's to limit the mice living under it- I can drop it and pick it up on the ground.

With the I-Match, I also set my cutter down on something like 4x4's, to keep it off the dirt a bit while being stored. Soon I hope to have storage for it inside.

The other thought is to be sure the dealer set the lift pins on the cutter at the correct height for your tractor/tire combination.

I have a 3520 with I-Match and using different rear implements, I often change the setting (length-screw in or out) of my "Top-Link" and it affects the connect / disconnect of the rear finish mower. I'm now in the habit of setting the mower's front roller on a concrete block before disconnecting.

You might just take a visual from the side to see just how "vertical" your I-Match is. If leaning forward or back noticeably,...you may find adjusting your Top-Link" (in or out) will help? It makes an "appreciable" difference on mine! Your dealer "MAY" have made some adjustments AFTER installing it as we often do for "fine-tuning" a particular attachment?

WELCOME ABOARD< Best of luck and CHEERS!

PS: ...see there,...with all the responses,..it wasn't such a dumb question after all was it ? (THEY NEVER ARE!!!) THIS board does NOT allow any "dumb" questions,...sure they may feel a tad "stupid" because "you" don't know the answer,...but stupid questions are allowed because the answer is IMPORTANT to one person,..but often MANY will benefit!!! Don't be shy!
