Blake, you should repost anything you find useful and interesting on those other internet mediums here on TBN. Like others I gave up on most social media long ago

I agree! Post it here....

I found you guys from here.... placed 2 orders in the last couple of months. The orders were for fittings that couldn't be found any place locally. Super fast shipping and great customer service! I grew up in Philly and had a great conversation with with a gal there when I was placing the order.

Don't use FB or Messenger or any of the social media crap....

We enjoy TBN and a couple of similar hobby sites. Zoom for meetings and quite a bit of email for keeping in touch with friends. We do order parts and such online.
That's enough. Other than the above, we don't do any social media & doubt we ever will.

My only use of fb is to check the market place from my wife's account. I am giving up on that because of all of the scam posts there. I do not use ig.

Blake,

From my standpoint, I hate FB with a burning passion. I could go into it but, from a societal, political and technological standpoint, the world would be a better place if it never existed. As a result, if a business engages in single-channel marketing, thereby endorsing a certain platform (e.g., "like us on FB for a discount"), I avoid doing business with that company. Posting a unique coupon code to each platform is a more balanced approach, yet still gives you feedback to adjust your strategy. Likewise, coerced viral marketing, wherein a company asks users to share some link for a benefit, also puts a bad taste in my mouth.

From your standpoint, as a "content producer", where it benefits your business, you should post anywhere you can get traction. Here, FB, IG, wherever. The more eyeballs you get in front of, the better for you. Know that content preferences are going to vary by platform. For example, on here, sprinkling a little tech advice in the hydraulic forum from time to time gains you clout, which the members of this forum (I think) prefer more than pics or memes. Conversely, people on IG love pics, so go nuts with trade show/warehouse pics.

Hope this helps!

Take this as free advice: I've bought stuff from you before (10+ years ago). Your website is hard to navigate and when I do google hydraulic stuff. Your website is no where to be found. You need to optimize the content so google puts you on the first page of searches...

Good luck... my take on the platforms you listed, it's for the younger crowds (that can't afford anything without asking their parents for money...)

@Discount Hydraulic Hose I am afraid that I have to agree. I have had to use Google pointed at your site to find parts. I just put in an order and half the fittings didn't show on your webpage menu/submenu, but Google was able to find the parts. (In fact, I found the first one on eBay, where you were the seller, which made me realize that you must sell them directly.)

I understand that it is a challenge to keep a website up to date, but at a bare minimum, your search has to work. E.g. a search for BSPP should return everything that you sell that has a BSPP fitting or thread on it.

And no, I wouldn't and don't use FB or IG for all of the reasons @ericm979 enumerated.

Please post here.

All the best,

Peter

Hope you get your stuff. Or something.

Dude hasn't posted here in over three years and hasn't logged in for two. Thread was bumped twice recently by spammers.

I agree with 2 previous points:

1) The search function on your website isn't great.

2) Your customer service is OUTSTANDING! Knowledgeable, responsive people. A CLASS ACT!
